CH2M Hill Engineering Event - February 21, 2013
In honor of National Engineering Week (Feb. 17-23), several engineers from CH2MHill visited our classrooms to present on a wide variety of engineering fields. The engineers came from many diverse backgrounds (civil, structural, mechanical, & environmental) and discussed how their aspect of engineering was useful to solving complex problems.
The engineers also led our students in developing a water filtration system using some simple materials that the students could find at home. Using only three items, the student groups had to develop a filtration system which could purify their "yucky" water. Check out the pictures and videos below to see our students problem-solve like professional engineers!
Using these filter materials, could you pick up to three and successfully create a system to purify the contaminated water?
